points of origin

Every breathing stone drawing begins with an actual stone, gathered during my hikes and wanders in northern New Mexico.

I look for the individual character in each stone, drawing the textures, tones, and geological histories I imagine they contain.

A conversation begins to unfold between the weight in my hand and the drawing on the page, as I translate the held surface of the stone into the image, working layer by layer, mark by mark.
